I. Structure
(1) Industrial sectional doors utilize a torsion spring balancing system to counterbalance the weight of the door panel. This allows for effortless manual operation—even without a motor—thereby moving beyond the motor-dependency of rolling shutter doors and enhancing overall convenience.
(2) Tracks can be installed along the ceiling or walls, allowing the door to operate while making efficient use of space. This overcomes the limitation of rolling shutter doors, which require a fixed installation footprint, and improves spatial utilization within the workshop.
(3) The door panel features a horizontal segmented, hinged design, facilitating easier maintenance and replacement. Small access doors or windows can be incorporated; the inclusion of an interlock system for the access door ensures convenient personnel passage while maintaining operational safety, thereby optimizing access efficiency and conserving energy.
(4) The door operates on a bearing-based system, which not only eliminates the loud noise associated with rolling shutter doors but also ensures smoother, more stable operation.
II. Materials
(1) The door panels consist of double-layered hot-dip galvanized steel sheets with a polyurethane foam core. This offers superior flame retardancy compared to standard rolling shutter doors and significantly lower costs compared to fire-rated rolling shutter doors.
(2) Compared to rolling shutter door motors, the motors used for industrial sectional doors offer expanded functionality. They support the connection of external control devices—such as remote controls, radar sensors, and induction loops—as well as safety mechanisms like infrared sensors and pneumatic safety edges.
